The area felt very safe and was easy to get around on foot. It’s about a five-minute walk to several bars and restaurants, and roughly ten minutes to the main plaza. The hotel was good value and had a local feel, with a pleasant lobby and pool, though there was nowhere to sit and relax by the water. I wish there had been a place to make a hot drink in the room or lobby. The rooms were fairly spacious and very clean, the beds were comfortable despite squeaking a little, and the hot water and pressure were great, which is rare in Mexico. Music from nearby bars could be heard late into the night, though that isn’t unique to this hotel.

I feel cheated by this stay, and I’ve never before left a negative hotel review. We booked through booking.com after seeing photos and descriptions of Mexican details, a garden, and a small pool. The attractive patio and rooms in that building are apparently for some guests only, while many rooms are in a separate building. We were put toward the back in a room with a window facing an open parking area full of cars, including cars that didn’t belong to hotel guests. Anyone from the street could walk in and look toward the room, and there was a hole in the door that made it feel unsafe. I can’t recommend this hotel.

The location was good and the room was okay, but the door barely opened or closed and needs maintenance. Don’t do laundry here. It cost about four times what nearby shops charge, and the staff acted as if 400 pesos for 5 kg was normal. They said they just send it to a company and charge what the company charges, taking no responsibility.

A quiet hotel in a beautiful spot, and the location was very good. There were a few days when the hot water, or even the water altogether, wasn’t working. The staff were really nice and fixed it efficiently. They speak English too :)
