Casa Artista BnB Manzanillo

Our little dog loved it here, and it was great value. The building has lots of character, with a lovely pool and courtyard. We were very comfortable in Room 5, which was well equipped and let us cook. The beach and restaurants are an easy walk away. Roberto made us feel at home and served a great breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The place is gorgeous, and the breakfast was first class. Roberto was kind and accommodating when we arrived, so we were excited to stay. That changed on the first night, when we found a scorpion in the bathroom. I nearly stepped on it at 3 a.m. I’m pregnant and we have a six year old, so we couldn’t risk staying. Roberto moved us quickly to another room, but there was another scorpion there too. We also saw extensive termite damage, with tunnels across the room. Ants I can understand, but this was a serious problem. When we asked Roberto about the damage, he said he didn’t know about it, even though it was the only room with tile covering damaged areas of wood. We told him we had to leave. His earlier kindness was gone, and he rudely said he knew what he had and that we must have brought the scorpions with us. I hadn’t planned to review the place because he was so kind at first, but I can’t overlook those nasty comments from a host.

Private, with a beautiful view and loads of character. It’s got a very Baja Sur, very Cali hip 70s feel. You know that artistic cousin, uncle, neighbor, maybe a classmate who was talented and always did things their own way? This is their place. Perfect? No. It’s better, deep or whimsical. This is Mexico at its personal best.

The room was spacious, with a great view, and the kitchen would be handy for staying longer. Este sería un gran lugar para pasar varias noches.
