I had to get out of the hotel with a police escort after someone called me and tried to extort me. I can't prove it, but I suspect the front desk may have been involved. I called 911, and the Manzanillo police were great. We were locked inside the hotel and had to call several times before anyone let us out. I wouldn't recommend going there if you value your life. The hotel is old, too.

When we arrived, check-in was still ten minutes away, but we weren't given our rooms until 5:30. Staff also refused to compensate us for the wait. The hallway had dirt and clumps of hair scattered around, and the toilet seat in our room kept sliding off whenever we sat down. My grandparents had an old box-style TV in their room. You may not expect to watch TV at the beach, but when it's too late to go to the shore and the hotel view is a Walmart parking lot, a screen sounds pretty good.

I spent one day there. The room was clean, and the hotel has Wi-Fi and a small pool. It's conveniently near the beach, Walmart, and other restaurants. Just be aware that there was no hot water for the shower. It was good overall.

The room at Pez Vela was alright, but there was no hot water. We told them, and it still hadn't been fixed by morning. The hotel was technically closed, and nearby La Pérgola was the same business with the same person on night duty. They first tried to check us in there, but those rooms smelled musty and there was no parking. We insisted and were taken to Pez Vela instead.

The rooms were acceptable, and the location is handy for the commercial area and restaurants. Staff advised us against going to the nearby beach.
