Just three short blocks from the beach and the world famous " Malecon". The room was clean, housekeeping came every day, and everyone was friendly. The restaurant's buffet was excellent too. Great for the price, and I'd return without hesitation.

I liked being able to walk to Plaza Machado, the central market, and plenty of good restaurants and bars from Gamma Mazatlan. I had a very enjoyable seven-day stay. The building is in great shape, and the maid kept my room clean and stocked. The hotel has full services, and I had a couple of meals with cold drinks in the dining room. The weekend brunch draws plenty of guests and locals. I'd love to find a vacancy here when I come back for another vacation.

The room door didn't feel secure. Someone from the hotel staff tried to get in late Saturday night, and the top chain was the only thing that stopped them. When I got up around 4 a.m. to use the restroom, I found the door partly open. I told the front desk, but they didn't take me seriously, and we got the sense this was normal there. Earlier, we'd also asked for another towel since there were three of us and only two towels in the room. They refused, saying it was one towel per person. We were there Friday to Sunday, and we won't be back.

Renovation work was going on throughout the hotel while they were still taking guests. Dust was everywhere, drills were running, and workers moved through the halls. I get that a hotel needs updating, but guests should be warned. After two hours of discussing it, I was promised a full refund for my reservation within seven days. That still hasn't arrived. No one answers my emails, and when I called to follow up, I was left sitting in silence. I'll dispute the charges with my credit card company.
