I’ve stayed at other nearby hotels that cost twice as much, and I had a better stay at Hotel Esperanza. The weekend price here was still decent even when other hotels raised theirs. I picked it because it’s across the road from the bus terminal, which worked well since I only had a backpack. The receptionist was welcoming and made my Booking reservation easy, and I appreciated the Genius discount. The lobby has comfortable seating, bathrooms, a TV, and easy access to a microwave and coffee maker. My room, number 10, was basic, but it had what I needed. Everything worked and seemed clean, and I felt secure. The shower had perfectly hot water, while the ceiling fan and windows kept the room well ventilated. There was also a drain cover in the shower to keep possible odors out.

I spent two weeks quarantining at the Esperanza after flying in from Queretaro. Giorgia and Cynthia were especially kind and helped me a ton, with great recommendations and some awesome food spots. It’s a simple, cheap hotel with hot water and very basic amenities. It’s clean, the staff are super sweet, and the location is good. It’s not the Ritz, but if you want somewhere comfortable and affordable, this is a great option. Excellent price and service. Highly recommend.

We needed an overnight stop on our way down the coast and were just looking for the cheapest no-frills place. The room was eighteen bucks and not far from the beach. What surprised us was the awesome customer service. We’ll be back.

You’ll need to walk or take a taxi to reach meals or tourist spots, since the hotel is on a main road. A LEY grocery store and OXXO convenience mart are nearby. It’s a clean, very basic place for a bed and a bath, a few blocks from the beach. The host is friendly and speaks English.

Esperanza kept its room price at 400 pesos over the year-end holidays, while other hotels were hiking theirs. The room was clean, the Wi-Fi was good, and the air conditioner was great. Comfortable place with friendly staff.
