Hotel47 Rooms

The service was full of warmth, dancing, fun, and surprises. What a hotel! Thanks so much. I definitely recommend it, and we'll be back soon.

Getting into the room took five hours, and once we were there, the doors opened if you pushed them even when they were locked. We also had to carry our luggage upstairs because there was no elevator. The reception desk was sometimes empty, and we had to wander around until we found someone to help. We had problems with the basics throughout the stay. There was often no water, and when it came on, we had to open the shut-off valves ourselves. The hot water tap wasn't marked, so we had to guess. The toilet had a faulty float, which meant taking the tank lid off and adjusting it after every use. The outlets seemed blocked and we had to force the charger in. The TV remote didn't work, so we went to reception twice. Only one of the two rooms had air conditioning, and not all rooms have it. In our room, the AC sprayed so much water that the beds got soaked. We left at 10:00 AM, but they didn't clean the room, even though they said cleaning went until 3:00 AM. When cleaning did happen, it was just mopping and making the bed. They didn't sweep under it or change the blankets, and the pillows smelled musty. A towel we'd left hanging outside was stolen. There wasn't any furniture, so charging a phone meant leaving it on the floor or bed.

The location was excellent, but the service was poor, there seemed to be no management, and I couldn't get in touch with a supervisor. The pool water was murky. The hotel was open at hours that apparently weren't allowed under the regulations, and some guests were evicted to make room for employees considered “favorites.” Of the reception staff, only the night shift receptionist was friendly and obsequious.

The room and facilities felt old and run-down, yet they still asked for a $300 damage deposit. The air conditioning controls had no covers and didn't work, and the pillows were dirty and smelled bad. I went downstairs to ask for replacements, but they never brought any. The person who checked us in was rude. It was a bad experience, and I'd suggest looking somewhere else.
