Las Villas Hotel & Spa Estrella Del Mar Mazatlan

We wanted somewhere private, remote, and uncrowded, with clean beaches, and this place was just right. It’s quite isolated and a good distance from Central Mazatlan. The scenery was incredible, and the pictures we took came out amazing. If you want a quiet getaway away from the crowds, this is the place. The turtle sanctuary was neat too.

Walking along the beach was the best, and the weather was awesome. The oceanfront location, excellent service, and tasty, fresh food make this a place to put on your bucket list. Be sure to get the fruit platter 😀

Beautiful rooms were the only good part. The food and drinks were very expensive, and the front desk was rude and showed no compassion. Our flight was cancelled, so we needed somewhere to stay while we sorted out flights home. When we got flights a day earlier than our reservation, the hotel wouldn’t refund that last night. The shuttle was advertised at 500 pesos return, but they charged us 450 one way. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you just need a room to sleep in.

The staff were all very nice, and the rooms are a good size. But it wasn’t worth the price for me. It’s in the middle of nowhere, with no store or restaurant less than a 20-minute ride away, and downtown is 40 minutes away. There’s a mini mart inside the resort, a mile away, for chips and cookies. The restaurant shuts at 9:30pm, with no vending machine or room service if you’re hungry after that. The food quality wasn’t very good, and the vegetables were canned, as shown in the picture. The sheets were stained, and water dripped from the faucet 24/7. There’s internet only in the room. If you want seclusion and don’t expect much from the food, this might suit you.
