Mayan Sea Garden Mazatlan

This place is a dump. It needs to be torn down as soon as possible!!!!

The prices are outrageous, and the room furniture is dated and doesn't seem to be maintained. They also have rules for everything that nobody explains when you check in. Reception was very friendly, but the pool staff were the opposite. During our whole stay, they never came to clean the pool.

The staff were attentive and pleasant, and whenever we asked for a repair or change, they handled it quickly. The stay was enjoyable overall, though the women trying to sell us an upgrade to our membership were less warm. Their smiles disappeared when we declined. The property is nice but clearly aging, with plenty of worn details. It doesn't look like Vidanta Corporation plans to replace the old furniture. The pool water stayed clean, though tiles were missing and the grout had mold. The area was also quite dark at night. Our room smelled terribly musty on the first day. We asked to switch rooms and were told they were all the same. The television was old, and both the microwave and coffeemaker had to be replaced.

The food costs way too much, and there's only one ice machine, a long, inconvenient walk away. The water is so cold that you can't stay in it for long, and even the staff say it's like ice. Some staff provide decent service, but it's nowhere near what we've had at other hotels in this group, like Vallarta. The property feels unbelievably neglected. There are only two elevators for twelve floors, and they don't work right. I got trapped in one! 🙃 After all that, would I return? Never.
