Pueblo Bonito Vantage Centro Histórico Mazatlán

We’re still in Mazatlán and already hoping to come back to this beautiful boutique hotel in Centro Mazatlán for longer. We’ve stayed at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay before, but this property has a special feel of its own. Jorge showed us around and was fantastic, warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the hotel. He made the visit feel personal and memorable. The space is stunning, and the scent throughout the property adds a luxurious touch.

We loved the food, both from room service and at the affiliated restaurant, and every staff member was kind and welcoming to us and our children. The housekeeping staff especially made us feel comfortable. The location is excellent, one minute from Plazuela Machado and five minutes from the beach and Malecón, with so many shops and restaurants nearby that there’s always something to see or do. The historic building has been preserved beautifully. There’s a peaceful central courtyard with a fountain and dining space, plus another courtyard with the pool, hot tub, and stairs up to the gym. Greenery is everywhere, and we spotted several hummingbirds while swimming. Our room had high vaulted ceilings, tasteful decor, a sleek modern bathroom, and two sweetheart balconies facing the street. Even in the middle of Old Mazatlán, the building kept out street noise well. We hardly noticed cars or music. It was our first stay, and we don’t want to stay anywhere else in Mazatlán.

The service was impeccable once I arrived, and the hotel itself is gorgeous. It’s in the historic center, two blocks from the Plaza, with beautiful rooms, bedding, and dining, plus a lovely courtyard and dining area full of plants. Everything was immaculate, and the service felt five-star. I did have trouble getting in touch with the hotel beforehand, though. There was no telephone number, and my messages went unanswered.

This historic hotel blends old and new beautifully. It’s modern but still feels warm and inviting, and it’s very well appointed. Pablo at the desk deserves a special mention. Before our stay, we went to see the hotel, and he showed us around. His passion for its history and restoration really comes through. Thanks to Pablo for making our stay more special. We’ll be back!
