We like that this condo is out in Cerritos, at the far end of Mazatlan, where things are quieter. The pool with its little waterfalls is lovely, and we’ve stayed here with friends several times. Getting around is easy: we take cabs to restaurants and attractions, or hop on the bus. If you want more action, the Golden Zone might suit you better.

I asked Jorge Melendrez if there was a safer payment option than PayPal while trying to book, since there are so many scammers around. His answer was, “if you can’t trust me I don’t need people like you staying here.” Good luck getting a reservation with a representative that rude. Once they find out you’re from the US, they charge you extra for themselves. Use AIRBNB, it’s quicker, cheaper, and secure.
