Residence Club La Jolla

For international travelers, getting an Uber here is a hassle. The location isn't great, and drivers literally wait 5-10 minutes before heading your way so the trip is worth it for them. You're better off staying somewhere closer. We had two rooms, and one didn't have an oven. After the beach and showers, we used the towels, then they charged $500 MX for a “dirty” towel, even though that cost more than the price per person per night and they'd just wash it again anyway. At that price, they should've let me keep it. I know not to stay here again, given all the nickel and diming, and I wouldn't let my friends or family spend their money here either.

The pictures were nice, and the location was great. It was a cost effective, luxury style hotel, but the service had some serious quirks. There was a restaurant on site, yet getting staff to open the doors where the food was displayed seemed nearly impossible. I asked several times for help, then gave up and left 35 minutes after the posted food service hours. Management just shrugged and said, “It's supposed to be open.” At checkout, staff started yelling at each other while trying to get someone to inspect the room so I could leave. It was a strange experience in such a nice location. There aren't any other places to eat close to the resort, and I probably wouldn't choose this location again.

I stumbled across this place and have kept coming back. It’s such a relaxing spot when you want a break from an all-inclusive, or your hotel is noisy with weddings and bands. The oceanfront restaurant serves fantastic food at a great price, and the service is outstanding. I just love it here.

Stay away. The experience was terrible, and the hotel’s electricity had been disconnected over illegal connections. I’m not kidding. Check Mazatlan’s news from Nov. 8 9 and 10 of 2024. Avoid it at all costs.
