The Xperience by g & Beach Club

The rooftop pool deck and the lovely pool downstairs were the highlights for me. There are a few good restaurants nearby, though the hotel sits a bit farther out. Our room was clean and pleasant, and the service was fine. Nothing was wrong, but neither really stood out. I'd still recommend staying here.

Being right across from the beach is a big plus, and the hotel is adults only. I came alone and never felt awkward or judged for it, though it would've been nice to share the place with someone. I've been here nearly a week, and everyone has been kind and helpful whenever I've asked for something. I can't remember all their names, so kudos to the whole team. The front desk has been the most helpful I've encountered anywhere I've stayed. The place feels special, with beautiful tile work and something nice to look at everywhere. The new hotel has a magnificent, refreshing pool with a water wall downstairs, plus two lovely rooftop pools with views of the beach and Pacific Ocean. The upstairs bar is gorgeous and open most nights. The drinks are strong and very good, especially the margaritas, some of the best I've had. The restaurant is good too, though I wish breakfast started earlier for early risers like me. I get that most people aren't up at 5 a.m. I've told my friends and family this is the place to stay in Mazatlan. I really have nothing bad to say. It's been a beautiful experience, and I could keep going.

The pool was clean and a comfortable temperature, and both the restaurant food and service were good. Room service was great too. I liked the rooftop bar's atmosphere, drinks, and service. The room itself was clean, with comfortable beds. The check-in process left a bad impression. We arrived around 1 and were told the room wouldn't be ready until 3. They first said we couldn't get in early even if we paid extra, then at about 2:40 offered access for 600 pesos, just 20 minutes before the scheduled check-in. We also had to leave a 1,500-peso deposit. After checkout, we asked for the deposit back and had to wait for the maid to confirm everything was okay. They said sand had made the bedding dirty and makeup on the towels was, in their view, hard to wash, then charged us 600 pesos. I asked the receptionist if they were serious. He said it was policy and didn't seem to care when I said I'd leave a negative review. I felt like the front desk had taken advantage of me twice, so the place was about a 50/50 experience for me. Make sure you leave the towels and sheets as you found them.

The rooms are brand new, and the bathrooms have bidets, which are hard to come across in Mexico. Drinks and service at the Sky bar were really good. The one bad part for us was the front desk staff, who seemed like they didn't want to be there.
