El Eden Bungalows

The owners at El Eden showed us just how kind and welcoming people in Mazunte can be. We arrived exhausted in the early morning after a long drive from Oaxaca, where we’d taken several wrong turns. We slept in the car for a few hours, hoping to wait until a more suitable time to check in. I’d sent a WhatsApp message to explain what had happened. While I was moving the car, the owner came over looking for us. He was so kind: he checked whether a room was free and quickly returned to say we could go in early because we were so tired. Being welcomed like that after such a rough trip made us incredibly happy. The room was lovely and had everything we needed. The garden was beautiful, and we spotted tropical birds several times. A short walk down the steps brought us to the beach, and Punta Cometa was close by too. We hiked there and watched the sunset. I’ll always remember our stay and recommend it to anyone looking for a warm welcome, beautiful nature, and a great atmosphere.

The host was very hospitable, and the surroundings are nice, with restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean and perfectly fine, though nothing fancy. Mine had a plastic mattress cover that rustled when I moved. It’s probably okay if you sleep alone, and the mattress itself was fine. The hill isn’t a problem unless walking up a small slope is difficult for you.

The bungalows were clean, and the staff were friendly. Wi-Fi was good enough. They’re up in the hills, so the view is breathtaking. It takes about 5-10 minutes to walk down to central Mazunte: go down the steps from the bungalows, follow a short dirt road, and you’ll reach the end of the main road through town.

You can get breakfast here, and the roof has a nice view. The dogs bark unpredictably, and construction gets going before 8am.
