My stay at the AC Hotel Santa Fe Mexico City went smoothly, with no major issues. The staff were friendly and made a real effort to be attentive, and the Santa Fe location works well for business trips in that part of Mexico City. A few things let the hotel down. The bed was uncomfortable, and the mattress felt old enough to need replacing. The TV had very few channels, and the ones that came through had poor picture and sound. Sometimes a ZeeVee logo appeared, making the signal seem like it wasn’t coming through a proper hotel system. Getting a restaurant bill was frustrating too. Mexican guests who need an official factura are told to request it by email, but it never arrives. The parking area also felt dirty compared with the rest of the property and could use more cleaning and upkeep. I was disappointed to find that breakfast is no longer included for Titanium Bonvoy members. That used to be a nice perk for loyal guests. The team is pleasant and the stay was good, but these maintenance and service details don’t meet what I expect from a Marriott property.

I expected more from this hotel given its stars and name, so to me it was pretty average. The restaurant experience was especially poor: none of the servers spoke English, which seemed strange at a Marriott. They avoided eye contact instead of asking a colleague for help. After I shared feedback with the manager, breakfast the next day went much better.

The building and rooms are comfortable, but the service was the worst I’ve had at a Marriot since 1996. The restaurant staff, and especially the front desk, came across as completely switched off. To me, service in hospitality starts with management. I’m really disappointed in this place.

I got very, very sick during my stay, and the hotel was no help at all. I called the lobby several times to ask if they could get over-the-counter medicine from a pharmacy because I couldn’t leave my room. There was a pharmacy within a 10-minute walk, but they still didn’t help. That evening I had to call a doctor to come to the hotel. They wouldn’t help me get the prescription filled either, so at 4 a.m. I had to take an Uber by myself to a farther pharmacy that was open 24/7. You could die here and they wouldn’t care. This place is garbage. That’s no way to treat a guest who’s ill on your property.
