The staff were attentive and accommodating all eight days, and housekeeping cleaned our room daily, which I appreciated. We also had a great time at the spa, with wonderful massages, and enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. The hotel is centrally located, so getting around was easy. We had an amazing stay and would absolutely recommend it, 10/10.

The premium lounge’s included food was a major reason I’d book again in México City. We had a premium room, #1103, with a fantastic view, and the terrace on the 18th floor is amazing and well worth a visit. The pool was very warm, though people weren’t rinsing off before getting in, which I found gross. Someone should enforce that. The shower by the pool only had cold water. Parking costs extra, which is disappointing at this price. Also, the mattresses were far too soft and need replacing.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and I enjoyed the pool and spa. The property is beautiful and well cared for, but old; the dining spaces and Premium amenities feel old too. The Junior Suite was much nicer than the more-than-basic superior rooms, though it came with no extra amenities. The breakfast at the LL restaurant is better value than eating in the breakfast lounge. The Premium lounge offerings don’t compare with the buffet, and its happy hour beer and wine were cheap and not enjoyable. Other Barcelo properties have better amenities, like L'Occitane toiletries in their Premium rooms. Here that brand is only in the Premium Lounge Bathroom, which I’d consider inaccessible. At the spa, you have to ask for towels, robes, slippers, and even a locker key. The free toiletries there were low quality and smelled bad; I regretted using them. I’m unlikely to stay here again.

The room was clean and comfortable, and everyone working at the hotel was friendly and kind. I stayed on the premium level, so I could have breakfast and a hot evening meal. It’s near Centro and an easy Uber ride from other cool neighborhoods. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back. Muchas gracias Fernanda and Ximena and all the great staff of Barcelo CDMX!

We stayed seven nights in two regular rooms, each with two queen beds and breakfast included. Since we were traveling with a group for part of the trip, we extended our stay at the start rather than switch hotels. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious, and we had a great view from the 21st floor, though CDMX is very smoggy. The hotel is decent for the price, with friendly staff and a good location for walking to the Museum of the Revolution, Palacio de Artes, Folk Art Museum, Museum of Remembrance, shops, street vendors, and artisans. It’s not in a high-end area like the Ritz or 4 Seasons, and this is not a 5-star hotel. The buffet breakfast downstairs was surprisingly good and served for long hours. For lunch or dinner, Sonora Restaurant in the hotel had excellent food and service. There’s also a Starbucks in the lobby with pastries and sandwiches if you don’t want a full breakfast. Housekeeping was the big letdown. On the first night, one bed had nail clippings in it, and the other room had a gross stain on the sheets. It made me think the sheets hadn’t been changed. Towels were a bit sparse, though staff brought them promptly when we called. The pool is tiny for a hotel this size. I didn’t try the spa, so I can’t comment on it. It was clean enough, but you should stay alert. Rates are really reasonable, so it could suit someone watching their budget.
