Casa Molcajete is small and doesn't have many luxuries, but everything was neat and clean, and our host was generous and hospitable. The space was super quiet even though Coyoacan's lively streets are nearby. We found coffee, street food, and restaurants within a few minutes' walk, and the location was great for exploring the whole suburb, including the Frida Kahlo museum. We wish we could've stayed longer and hope to return.

We felt secure behind the always-locked main gate and could come and go with our keys. Our group of five stayed in two small units, one above the other, giving us two kitchens and three bathrooms. They had everything we needed, and once we found the best fan setup, the fans worked well. The location made for an authentic experience. Coffee was just around the corner, churro, elote, and hot dog vendors were another block away, and the Frido Kahlo museum was a few blocks away. Book that online ahead. Two blocks in the other direction is a main square with restaurants and a park. We took a 15-20 minute Uber to Xochimilco for the amazing boat rides. We stayed three nights and still didn't see everything.

The hosts were wonderful and helpful, and the value for money was incredible, well beyond what I expected. The cozy Casa is tastefully decorated and well equipped for a short or longer stay. It's right in the vibrant heart of Coyoacán, with everything you'd want to see and enjoy just outside the door.
