Casa Panuco

The service and place were extremely bad. The rooms are much smaller than they look in the pictures, and they only clean every four days. They didn’t give us clean towels either. I’d rate it zero if I could.

The hostel is in a great location, and the bed was comfortable. But I paid extra for a loft suite with a balcony and private bathroom and ended up in a small ground-floor room instead. The bathroom was attached to the restaurant kitchen by an overhead plastic covering, so I could hear loud music, dishes being washed, and cooking while trying to sleep. When I asked the front desk gentleman if there’d been a mistake, they said they sometimes switch rooms. If they’re going to change what you booked before you arrive, they should tell you, or compensate you for the difference, so it doesn’t spoil your trip.

Erik at reception was so responsive, accommodating, and helpful. During my short stay, he went out of his way to help me. Thank you!

The location is great, with lots of Reforma’s monuments and historic sights within walking distance, and the price is very affordable. Check-in was quick too, basically just show up and your room is ready. If shared bathrooms are fine with you, this little place is perfect. The one thing I didn’t care for was how loudly the floor creaked when I walked around my room.
