The hotel is quite social, with lots of conventions happening in the lobby. Staff service was good, but maintenance seems behind schedule. My key didn’t work at first, so I had to get a replacement. The room had two issues: the air conditioner made a loud kicking noise that made it impossible to use, and without working AC, ventilation was terrible. The front desk gave me a portable AC. Prices were also 30 USD higher than advertised on Google Maps.

The rooms are pretty simple, so location is the big draw. It’s fantastic being able to go straight downstairs to the mall, with unmatched food options, and the area felt very safe. My wife and I even walked down the road for tacos at 1AM and felt totally safe. Prices are very reasonable, and breakfast was delicious. Just keep in mind it’s not ideal if you want to spend a lot of time around central Mexico City.

We’d come back for a solo trip for sure, but I’d think twice about bringing kids. When it’s late at night, they suddenly decide they’re hungry, and it’s much easier to have juice boxes, yogurt, jelly, chocolate bars, or something else in a room fridge than to hunt for food at 10 pm on a rainy day. Our room had no refrigerator, microwave, or coffee machine, and there weren’t any cups, mugs, or glasses either. I’m a Marriott Titanium Elite member, the highest level aside from Titanium Ambassador, and there weren’t any upgrade options, even though I’m entitled to 5 upgrades per year as a Titanium Elite member. It feels like Marriott is seriously downgrading ALL BENEFITS. I’m surprised because I’ve seen another review with pictures showing a microwave, coffee maker, and mini fridge in the room. WTH!!!! The service was exceptionally good, and the staff were great. We picked this hotel for a family vacation in Mexico City, and the location was EXCELLENT! City Express connects to a mall with Santa Clara ice cream, El Globo bakery, Nutrisa frozen yogurt, P.F. Chang, Carl Jr., Italianni's, Starbucks, a cinema, and a Walmart Express. Another mall with lots of stores, a Porton and a Vips restaurant, and a Walmart Supercenter is within walking distance too. There are all kinds of stores nearby.

A functional business hotel in a nice location, with friendly staff. The room was pretty basic and didn’t offer much in the way of amenities.

It was a decent hotel, but the restaurant staff seemed a little overwhelmed and the food wasn’t very good. That’s a shame in Mexico.
