When I arrived at L’Heritage in Mexico City, they told me there was no running water and couldn’t say when it would be restored. That alone made the property uninhabitable to me. Water is a basic necessity, yet they were still operating and accepting guests. Getting there was already a frightening ordeal. The address listed online was wrong, so I arrived in Mexico City close to midnight and spent time riding around in an Uber trying to find the property. At first, the hotel ignored my calls. Later, they said they couldn’t help because of a language barrier. I was dropped on an unfamiliar street and had to search for the building alone at night. I felt extremely unsafe. They only responded after I insisted they send a photo of the exterior so I could locate it myself. The room I eventually got into looked completely different from the listing photos. There was no running shower water or toilet tissue, no wastebasket, and the refrigerator didn’t work and smelled foul. The window wouldn’t close, and at about 50°F outside the room was very cold. The sheets looked dingy and worn, and the bed was as hard as a rock. These are basic hospitality standards, and they weren’t met. Someone verbally told me they’d confirm in writing that the property had no water and that I was leaving because they failed to provide essential services, not because I’d changed my mind. I never got that confirmation. Since then, the property hasn’t replied to my messages or to Agoda’s inquiries about my refund. This was stressful, unsafe, and completely unprofessional. I can’t recommend this property. The conditions and service didn’t match what was advertised online. Agoda blocked my review and wouldn’t approve it for posting!
