Hotel Diligencias

The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the facilities were good. There’s a small restaurant with delicious breakfasts, plus room service and a shuttle service to anywhere. The location is excellent, prices are reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend it.

The rooms were clean, but had frayed towels, no bedside lamp, and a shower that never got hot. It feels more like a motel pretending to be a hotel. Most staff were unfriendly, and getting their attention felt like hard work. Although it’s very central, I didn’t feel safe there. This part of the city and its residents seem neglected, despite the constant police presence, which didn’t seem to help. A local square right beside the hotel gets very loud at night because it’s crowded, and the police sirens are constant too. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Spend your money elsewhere.

Before check-in, I tried several times to cancel my reservation, but no one at the hotel answered. The booking company also emailed them and got no response. I understand and accept the cancellation policy and penalty, but the lack of replies by phone or email made it impossible to sort things out in time. It was frustrating and unprofessional. I hoped they’d improve their customer service so other guests wouldn’t run into this. They replied to my review, but I still haven’t heard anything directly from them. If you book and have a bad experience, it seems they won’t do anything to fix it.

There was no insulation, and with single-glazed windows it felt like being out on the street. The Wi-Fi was very poor or missing altogether. They were also doing construction at 7:30 in the morning, so getting any rest was impossible. The reception staff were friendly when we checked in, at least.
