Downtown Treasure Place

A really nice place. The rooms and shared areas were clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The place is gorgeous and fairly spacious, but the problems outweighed that. There was no AC or even a fan, so it got extremely hot and felt damp. The only way to get air in was to open the windows, which didn’t feel safe because the colony seemed sketchy and smelled strange. They also hadn’t told us there’d be no hot water. The fridge didn’t work for our whole stay. The owner acted as though he didn’t know about it, even though a guest had checked out of the room just hours before we arrived. We felt he wasn’t being honest about it.

The service made me feel welcome and at home, and the staff explained what there was to tour nearby and how to get there. The downtown hotel was beautiful inside, though from the street you wouldn’t guess it was a hotel. There’s a gym, a movie room, as I call it, with two TVs, a lovely rooftop outdoor area, a kitchen, and more. I’ll stay there whenever I go back.

We only booked two nights at first, then added three more. We’re still figuring out how long to stay when we come back to CDMX. It’s great value, and we felt at home thanks to Ernesto, Sergio, Eva, Magali and Pati. They were amazing. The included breakfast was incredible. The place was spotless, with comfortable rooms, furniture to put your things on, plenty of bathrooms and showers, and a beautiful terrace. Getting around was easy, with the Metrobus at the street corner and subway lines close by. We walked a lot and found loads of street food and little local spots.
