Exe Suites Reforma

I left my bags at reception while I went out to see the city. When I came back, several things were missing, including my AirPods Max, which had been packed deep inside. Awful experience at this old hotel. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend staying here.

I stayed four nights and couldn’t sleep properly. The bedding kept being stained, and the whole stay was uncomfortable and disgusting. My bed was dirty the first night, with stains and lots of hair on it. I asked for it to be changed, but the duvet the next day was covered in stains too. I asked them to change it again, and the third duvet still had stains. By then I stopped asking, since it was getting worse. How does this place have five stars?

The location is great, the room is big, and the dated facilities still work. I’m not even sure there’s a point in writing this, though. The receptionist killed the holiday mood by explaining that our booked king room was no longer available because we’d paid for early check-in on a two-twin room. That was the only room available when we arrived at 5 am.

The restrictions made it feel like I was being watched instead of relaxing. There were rules about noise, limited pool and gym hours, and even what we could bring back to the room. The restaurant schedule was too strict, and needing reservations for every meal made dining a hassle. It felt like following a rigid routine instead of enjoying a vacation. Check-in and check-out were inflexible too. They refused even a small early check-in request although my room was ready. Exe Suites seemed more focused on enforcing arbitrary policies than making guests comfortable. The location and appearance initially seemed promising, but the stay wasn’t relaxing. If you want a warm, welcoming stay in Mexico City, I’d strongly recommend staying somewhere else.
