The hotel is right in the mall, which made shopping and finding restaurants convenient. The location was excellent, and the lobby looked very nice. It was a little confusing figuring out that I had to take an elevator to the lobby, but check-in was easy. My room had a window where I could watch what was going on outside. The bed was average, and the water pressure was okay, neither the best nor the worst. The room was clean, and housekeeping did a very efficient job every day. On our first night, we asked the front desk for a couple of blankets because it was cold. The woman said she’d bring them up but never did. We arrived at 10:30 at night, exhausted from the flight, so we just went to sleep in the cold. The next day I asked again, and they brought blankets and fresh towels promptly and kept the room clean each day. We planned to stay four days but had to leave on the third because a severe snowstorm was heading toward my area in the US, where I needed to fly back. Worried that flights might be cancelled the next day, I contacted Marriott, who told me to inform the hotel. I went to the desk more than 24 hours ahead. The man said he’d tell his supervisor, and on checkout morning my husband spoke with the front desk. He said the supervisor had been informed and they would refund the last night, though it would take a while. I don’t know how long, so I’ll update this review once I know whether they refunded the night I couldn’t stay. At this point, I’d definitely stay here again when I return.

The daily room service was fantastic, always on time and well done. The place was clean and simple, and the front desk and check-in went smoothly. The layout took some getting used to: the lobby is on the top floor, and to go outside from the rooms you have to take two different elevators. Breakfast was exactly the same every day of our four-night stay, with no variation. On the first morning, one server was quite pushy about asking for tips upfront. We didn’t see that server again over the next three days. Also, a one-liter bottle of water in the small lobby shop cost 50 pesos, while the exact same chilled bottle downstairs at Soriana was 11 pesos.

Reception gets a 10, and the room was just as clean. Parking is only available at the mall, and everything else is nearby. But breakfast service was poor for someone working in Mexico City and leaving at 7:00 AM. It opens at 6:30, but there was almost nothing ready then, not even coffee cups, juice glasses, or cutlery. The manager wasn’t in a hurry to bring the food. I arrived at 6:40, when it was finally possible to start eating and everything was available. The hotel is good overall, but some things aren’t.

Karla at the front desk gave us great service from beginning to end, even though I had a couple of room issues and things didn’t work out. That’s why I’m writing this and giving the hotel five stars.
