They charged 30 MX$ for each piece of luggage we wanted to leave there during the day. At a hostel costing around 650 MX$, I expected that to be included. We also weren’t given a key to the front door, so coming back from dinner meant hoping someone was awake to let us in. The shower seemed potentially dangerous, since I was worried about getting an electric shock from the showerhead. On top of that, the hostel was hard to find at the end of a dark alley. I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels around the world and was very disappointed. I’d look somewhere else in Zona Rosa.

We stayed March 7-10-2013, and the friendly 24-hour reception always greeted us with a smile. It’s a family-run hostel, and the service was excellent. The location is right in the heart of Zona Rosa, near restaurants, clubs, and museums, but tucked away in a kind of cul-de-sac so street noise and loud music weren’t an issue.

The lockers were nice, and it was very quiet at night. Finding the place was hard, the shower was bad, and there wasn’t a common area.

There were bugs everywhere, and the rooms are tucked away. They’re tiny, with just one window that opens and no screens, so insects get in. It gets hot without air conditioning. The shared bathroom is small and a bit neglected, and the old, sagging mattresses don’t make you want to sleep. There are small flat-screen TVs, but no cable channels or radio, so there isn’t much to watch or listen to.
