Hotel Marlowe Centro Histórico

This has been my family’s go-to hotel for years whenever we visit, and the staff always go above and beyond. On my latest trip I got sick, and they were very accommodating, even letting me check out late because I was too ill. It’s a great central place to stay, and the breakfast they provide is delicious.

Right in the center of the historical part of mexico, with easy access to taxis and lots of shops and China Town nearby. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

The staff were great, and the water pressure and Wi-Fi were good. The rooms were just so-so. The location is technically central, depending on which part of mexico city you want to visit. I’m often in CDMX and already have my usual hotels, but tried this one on a friend’s recommendation. I wouldn’t stay again. I also dislike how strict hotels in cdmx can be about early check-in, often charging an extra night when they know many long-haul flights arrive before 0600. There’s only one working elevator, and staying on the 6th floor was a nightmare. It also means there are no handicapped-accessible options.

The people and service are excellent, and the hotel feels safe, clean, and nicely priced. It’s right in the middle of the Historic Center, with a small convenience store and pharmacy on the corner. You can eat at the hotel and the food is good, especially breakfast, though there are plenty of great choices outside too. The style has an old-school feel without seeming outdated. Wi-Fi isn’t the best, but it works if you’re patient.
