MX Forum Buenavista Hotel

The hotel is beautiful, the staff are attentive, and everything is exceptionally clean. But the rooms get unbearably hot and humid because there’s so little airflow. Even in November and December, when it’s cold outside, walking into the room feels like stepping into an oven. The windows are sealed, and there’s no bathroom ventilation, so heat and stale air seem to build up throughout the hotel. That’s a major flaw in an otherwise wonderful property. Whoever approved sealing every window should lose their license.

There’s no air conditioning or exhaust fan in the rooms, so smells and air stay trapped in the bathroom and bedroom. The windows are sealed and can’t be opened for fresh air. We asked for a fan and were told they didn’t have any. It’s a shame, because neither the location nor the staff make up for how poor the room conditions are. I’m not even sure this place should be operating as a hotel. Do not stay here!

The room was so humid each morning that we left the door open to get some airflow, and we killed three mosquitoes. There’s no AC, no windows that open, and no ventilation in the bathroom, so smells linger in the room. Breakfast wasn’t great, but it got us through the morning. Very little light comes in, too. We found just one roll of toilet paper, no cups, a broken safe, and no trash can in the room. The maids also didn’t change the sheets, and we noticed hairs in the bed. If you stay, mark the bed as dirty so they’re forced to replace them. This hotel really needs air conditioning.

We stayed several nights in April, but the AC in our room wasn’t working. I asked the front desk for another room, and they said they were fully booked. It was late, so we had no choice but to stay the night. The room was hot and uncomfortable, with no ventilation and no window to open. You can’t see outside at all, and in my opinion being completely enclosed could also be a safety issue in an emergency. The next morning I asked for a refund because we couldn’t spend another night like that. They refused, saying the booking was nonrefundable even under those circumstances. Expedia couldn’t help because the hotel said I could no longer cancel, and my credit card company said there was nothing they could do. The hotel only cares about money, not customers. The worst customer service ever!
