La Casa del Reloj - Zona de Hospitales

Tt

The location has two real advantages: it’s close to the hospital area and to downtown Tlalpan. But the building sits right beside the Periférico (ring road), and traffic noise at night is unbearable. You can feel the place creak whenever a large vehicle goes by. For a booking for two, they still give you just one towel per room. Supplies are limited too, a small shampoo bottle and one bar of soap, just one for the shower and one for your hands. Need a blanket ($50), small towel ($15), large towel ($25), or something else? They charge extra for it all, and the safe is locked unless you pay to use it. The only thing they offer “for free” is a Turin chocolate bar in exchange for a good social media review.

The common areas felt welcoming, and both the rooms and well-equipped kitchen were very clean. The downsides were the old, boring TVs that couldn’t be upgraded to smart TVs, and no one being available early. Even with a reservation, they wouldn’t look after my luggage.

I’ve stayed here twice. Other guests can be noisy, which is the one thing that’s bothered me, but I find the hotel comfortable and safe. Once the refrigerator had a problem, and they fixed it right away. The receptionist handled everything quickly.
