We rang the bell, hoping to see the rooms before deciding. The hotelier refused without giving a reason or showing any courtesy. We explained we couldn't book until we knew whether the place suited us, but she turned away and left. My wife quietly took out her phone to look for another hotel. Two minutes later a man came over, told us to leave at once because the door was private, and threatened to call the police when he was told he had lost his mind. After visiting 50 countries, this was the first time we'd met such an aggressive hotelier. Disagreeable and aggressive. She should change professions. Avoid this place.

Inside, Privada Guadalupe is absolutely beautiful and feels like a real hidden gem. The street outside is unattractive and has a lot of trash. The apartment has a microwave, fridge, and small kitchen with a gas stove, but no dishes, other kitchen items, or even matches. Wi-Fi measured 39 mbps/DL and 2 mbps/UPL. Check-in and checkout were fine. For groceries, Soriana is a 15-minute walk north, and SuperLeal is 7 minutes south. The Santa Lucia riverwalk, the best part of all Monterrey, is along the way between the apartments and SuperLeal. I can recommend it for a calm and safe stay near Monterrey Centro.

The location worked very well for my needs. The place itself was okay, with no restaurant, and the staff support was fairly good.
