The price seemed fair, and I liked the small, lovely rooms. They have an old-fashioned feel, with high ceilings and wooden doors, in a hotel protected for its cultural value.

The location is great, and the balconies are lovely. But the staff kept stopping us to ask how many guests were staying each night, even though we’d already told them about the extra guests and knew there’d be a fee. The carpet also left my feet black with dirt after I walked on it barefoot for 20 minutes following a shower, despite the room being vacuumed daily.

We only stayed two days, but the room was cleaned both days and the shampoo and other supplies were replenished. From our room and the rooftop, we could see all of Morelia. The hotel is right in the downtown center, close to everything, and we had a great stay. The price felt very good for the service and experience, so we’ll come back.

I liked the historic architecture and the rooftop patio, which has a partial cathedral view. The building has a dark, Gothic feel, and the lighting is dim. The pillows and mattress had stiff plastic covers, and I could hear people in the hallway from my room. A reservation mix-up caused problems and cut my stay short. Luckily, friends found me another comfortable place during a difficult time to book.

It’s close to the plaza, so it can get noisy at night. There’s secure parking, though it’s a few blocks away. Because of Covid-19, they were only able to offer one room. Food and coffee are nearby, and the hotel itself is nice.
