Hotel Misión Catedral Morelia

The hotel is right in the center, and we had a nice stay for what it is. Staff were friendly and mostly efficient. The included breakfast could use better options, though. They restrict the choices quite a bit, which could be hard for visitors on a budget or people hoping to try the local food. The rooftop restaurant has amazing views, but the food can be pricey and its quality varies, so there are other nearby places to eat, including local restaurants. If you're driving, the garage next door is handy. Parking can be added to the hotel fee, and once validated you can come and go as often as you like during your stay. I'd probably stay here again if the chance came up.

The restaurants and shops close by made it easy to explore, and the hotel was comfortable and well placed during our travels. It gave us a relaxing base and made the trip more enjoyable. Having amenities and local attractions within easy reach was a real plus, and the stay left us with good memories.

Everything else was excellent, but skip the included breakfast. It really isn't worth it.

The hotel is right in the center of the city, but I was very disappointed to learn there were no cameras on the second or third floors. Someone stole my wife's wallet from just outside our room. She'd set her bag and some things we'd bought on a small couch while going in to open the door. The room key has to be put into the electrical slot for the lights to work, so she stepped inside, and when she came back out, the wallet was gone. Her room key was in a side pocket of it, too. I spoke to Miguel at the front desk, and all he said was, “Sorry, we have no cameras on the 2nd and 3rd floor,” and that there was nothing he could do. She had her IDs, bank cards, and quite a bit of money in there. The hotel didn't even seem to try to help, and it ruined my vacation. Please be careful if you book here.
