Hotel El Rancho

The staff were super friendly, and I liked the cute, vintage feel of the rooms. The bed was really comfortable, and the room was soundproof, which was a big plus for us. It was so hot that we turned the left knob and cooled right off, so I can’t say how the hot water was. One faucet handle and the toilet seat were broken when we arrived. We’d still return despite those two small issues. There’s an outdoor pool and a kids’ playground, though we didn’t use either. Restaurants and shops up the road make things convenient. Thanks, Hotel El Rancho, for your hospitality.

It used to be an okay place, but this time the service was the worst I’ve experienced. There weren’t enough towels in the room, and customer service seemed not to care. They just told me, “If you don’t like it, cancel and go somewhere else.” Silvia and Marlene were the people there, and neither showed education or customer service skills. No more El Rancho for me.

You get what you pay for here. The place is old and mostly outdated. When I arrived by car, they asked me to pay, but their card machine wasn’t working, so they said I could pay in the morning. I wasn’t given a room key, and the night guard’s master key took about 15 minutes to work. Then the door’s closing mechanism wouldn’t catch. I fiddled with it for five minutes before I got it shut. The guard came back and wanted me to go to the front desk with my ID. I said I’d do that in the morning when I paid. At least the AC worked, and breakfast was edible.

The coffee was fresh and tasty. We didn’t try the breakfast, though it’s offered. For the price, I’d stay again and be happy to bring the kids. It’s right as you enter Navojoa, with a nice setting, a pool, and a kids’ play area. The front desk staff were attentive. Our room was okay, with two matrimonial beds, clean sheets, a small coffee maker and fridge, and a satellite TV with lots of sports and some kid-friendly movie channels. The bathroom was nicely decorated and had hot and cold water; everything looked clean. We had clean towels, but they smelled as if they’d been sitting there for a while, maybe because the room hadn’t been used recently. The room itself could have used a bit more elbow grease, but it wasn’t too bad.
