Gran Altata

The rooms are clean and practical, and the restaurant offers very good food with plenty of drink choices. It’s a quiet, pleasant place to spend time with family or as a couple.

The setting in Altata Bay, surrounded by mangroves and marine life, is beautiful. Meals made with fresh local produce were spectacular, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, with the skills to welcome both domestic and international tourists. The hotel has first-class facilities. Highly recommended.

The staff were friendly, but the service was bad. Food arrived cold, and they brought dishes we hadn’t ordered. One piece of fish crackling had a bone in it, the tortilla was hard like it had been kept for days, and the aguachile was okay but there was far too little for one person. I asked for limes, had to ask again, and only then did they bring them. One dish was almost $250, and for that price I found what they offered terrible. I’d say God bless them, but not even God would eat here.

The food was excellent, and the staff gave excellent service. The rooms are basic but have air conditioning, and they weren’t cleaned every day.
