Marival Emotions All-Inclusive Resort by Mercure

The Pergola breakfast restaurant was a lovely new discovery for us. It’s smaller and quieter, with a buffet and made-to-order breakfast, plus a nice view of the pool and beach. Javier and the rest of the staff there were wonderful. We were stuck a few extra days when PV and the airport shut down, which meant the resort staff had to work double shifts. They still stayed professional, friendly, and accommodating, and we felt safe and cared for. I hope management recognizes and rewards them, they deserve it. We’ve been returning to Marival Emotions for six years, largely because of the sports and entertainment crew. They’re talented, fun, hardworking, and especially kind to our younger daughter, who has special needs. Carlos was a superstar, along with Danny, Cesar, Fernanda, Luis, Ari, Alexis, Michelle, Edith, and Robexy. The nightly shows were the best part of our evenings. My mom and I had dinner at Silk Restaurant in the Marival Emotions Resort, and the food was excellent. The room’s atmosphere was just right, too. Saul greeted us warmly and personally, and Marlen kindly showed us to our seats. Joel had great suggestions for the night’s specialties. We’ll definitely come back.

The pool activities were a lot of fun, and Alexis and Monica did a great job leading the water games. Gigi, Edith, Diego, and Fernando were wonderful with the kids. The hotel itself is beautiful, as are the pools and amenities. I’d absolutely recommend it for a family vacation.

The main disappointment was the La Bamba snack shack, where service was lacking, though the food was about what we expected. Elsewhere, we were very well looked after. Guillermo at the Italian restaurant Amalfi served us for several meals, kept our wine glasses full, and was extremely professional. The manager also went out of their way to help us celebrate our special occasion. Alexandra kept us hydrated on the beach and was always smiling. We booked fairly late and were impressed with what we got. The entertainment team surprised us with fresh, well-produced shows. The Greatest Show, Dreams, and Pirates were new to us and felt refreshing compared with shows we’d seen at bigger resorts. We didn’t know what to expect, but we’d definitely consider coming back.
