We were a group of 10 from different parts of the U.S., looking for a smaller, more intimate hotel we could partly take over. The front desk handled all our requests, from private airport transfers, taxis, and beach transportation to visits to a neighboring community market, textile co-op, and mezcal ancestral distillery. They also helped with restaurant suggestions and reservations, no small feat for a group our size. Ask for Alí as your driver-guide. He was knowledgeable and courteous, and made sure we were safe, fed, quenched, and informed. His humor, driving, and navigation were great, and he clearly takes pride in his State of Oaxaca. He fit right in with us, and we missed him when he wasn’t around. We especially enjoyed sharing lunches on day trips and our last dinner in Oaxaca City with him. The grounds were gorgeous, the rooms clean, the staff attentive, patient, helpful, and kind, and breakfast was fresh, quick, and delicious. A fantastic boutique hotel in the heart of Oaxaca, less than a block from the square. Highly recommend. Thank you, Hotel de la Parra!

They were very accommodating. We had a small issue in our room and they upgraded us right away, which impressed us. When we had to leave before regular breakfast hours, they served breakfast early. They also made tea when we asked for hot water. I can’t find fault with this central Oaxaca hotel and would stay again.

We were very happy with our stay. The staff were always smiling and couldn’t have been more helpful. It’s a beautiful historic building just a short walk from the central square, and communication was excellent both by email before we arrived and in person during the stay. Everything was handled quietly and efficiently.

We booked five rooms for a week while family came to town for a wedding, and had a marvelous stay. The hotel was immaculate, and the cleaning staff were kind and attentive to every detail. Each morning we ate fresh, delicious breakfast in the courtyard. The staff were amazing, friendly, patient, available, and accommodating in every way. The location is perfect, about a block from the Zocalo, with no traffic and markets, restaurants, shops, and banks just steps away. We felt safe and embraced by the warmth and energy of the city. We look forward to coming back and seeing more of the area.

A lovely boutique hotel with local-Oaxacan charm throughout. The location is hard to beat, and the staff arranged a courteous driver for my airport transportation.
