Hotel Parador San Jose

A good, affordable place to stay. The staff are really good.

The service is the worst part. Apart from the woman who works during the day, the others are rude, seem not to hear or speak to you, make faces, or try to charge extra for everything. The hotel itself was awful: cockroaches, a TV that didn’t work, a mattress that looked like it came from the garbage, smelly drains, and windows that wouldn’t close. Honestly, it’s the worst I’ve seen, not just in Oaxaca but in the whole country. I’d give it less than one if I could. Don’t come back to this terrible place!

For 600 per room for two people in a double bed, you get about what you’d expect. It’s affordable and right in the city center, and having parking is a plus. Still, it was somewhat dirty. Hygiene shouldn’t have to depend on the price.

It looked nice from the outside, but turned out to be a total rip-off. There was no hot water. They kept saying they’d run out of gas and had ordered more, but couldn’t say when it would arrive. The beds had old, dirty, ugly sheets.
