The front desk person tried his best to help, but the hotel needs serious maintenance. There were dead bugs all along the corridor. Room 1 hadn't been cleaned: hair all over the bathroom walls and floor, no toilet paper, no shower curtain, and lamps that didn't work. I moved to room 2, where the AC was broken. In room 3, the TV didn't work. It wasn't a good night's stay.

They said the restaurant was closed due to Covid, but apparently that didn't apply to a very large party. It started at 7 pm and echoed loudly. Around 10 pm, they put a piñata in the main area directly below all the rooms, and it sounded like being in a football stadium during the Superbowl. Absolutely ridiculous. I won't stay here again.

The room with two beds was spacious, clean, well laid out, and had plenty of counter space. I also liked that the sink was outside the bathroom. Julie, Luis, and Roberto at the front desk were all courteous and helpful. Hotel Castillo del Ray in Palenque is a good accommodation option in the area. There are a couple of things that could be better: the bathroom sometimes smelled a bit like sewage, perhaps because of the drainage, and the beds had plastic covers underneath the bedspreads.

The staff were consistently nice to us, and breakfast was delicious. It's a beautiful hotel, close to the city center.

The staff are really nice and speak English. The pool is nice, too. It's a very nice hotel, about a 10-15 minute walk from the center.
