What a place! The food is excellent, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They don't speak English, which was my one drawback, but they try their best with Google Translate. Relax and enjoy.

We got a lovely cabin in a good spot, and being able to park right beside it was handy. It's really close to the wineyeard, which I'd recommend visiting. The staff handled our reservation trouble professionally and upgraded us because the issue was on their system. The hotel restaurant is fine, though the menu could be a little broader. The bar is okay too, nothing special.

The grounds outside the room were much nicer. The restaurant was very good, the gardens felt refreshing, the tennis court was in good condition, and you can bring or rent equipment. Bikes are also available to rent, and the golf couse was okay. The room itself was small and not very clean, with spider webs in the corners. The bathroom was cramped, and there was a huge spider in the shower when I first went in. Worst of all were the beds: they were very hard and uncomfortable, and the plastic covering under the sheets made a lot of noise whenever I moved at night. The pillows didn't help.

I enjoy walking around the beautiful grounds, and our stays over the years have usually been peaceful since we haven't come during busy periods. I've lounged by the pool and had a glass of wine brought over in the evening, though I've never gotten in because it's usually cold. I imagine that would feel great in the scorching summer heat. The restaurant is fine for an occasional meal. The front desk has sent us to the wrong room first, even with online reservations, so we've had to go back after checking in to get the right one. Wifi isn't reliable outside the restaurant or front office, so we bring a backup travel device. We've stayed in cabana rooms with king beds, and they work for a few nights, but the beds could use an update. As of May 2018, it was a mattress on a concrete slab. I think the mattress is thicker now, and the old bedside lamps have been replaced by hanging fixtures, leaving the whole table free on each side. The rooms have their own water heater, a small fridge and microwave, but no coffee maker. There’s lots of clothing storage with a seven-drawer dresser and an armoire, plus a separate sitting room. We'll stay again.
