Hotel Casa del Refugio

We booked through Expedia but didn’t get the room we’d reserved. It was tiny and didn’t look like the photos. The receptionist said they hadn’t updated the website photos to show what was still available, and that the hotel was full. At least they didn’t charge us extra. I’ll contact Expedia.

The room stayed cool enough that we didn’t need air conditioning. There was parking in front of the hotel, and the rooms were cozy, with beautiful architecture. I’d definitely stay again.

I’m covered in bedbug bites. When I told the front desk, they checked the bed and found even more after flipping the sheets. I took pictures and moved to another hotel, but management refused even a refund or discount. They denied there were insects, then looked at my photos and said only 3 bugs showed in the close-up image. They gave me a plastic bag for my luggage and offered to wash my clothes. I accepted, and now several items are missing. I contacted the manager but haven’t heard back. Stay away, there are plenty of other hotels nearby.

I wouldn’t eat there again. The main dish we ordered was cold, like it had been microwaved, and pretty plain. The child’s dish was undercooked. The food was terrible.
