The bed is on the hard side, so keep that in mind if that's not your thing. The area is safe and I had no trouble walking around, though it's not the fanciest part of town. It's by the ADO. There's some nearby noise, but it dies down later at night so you can get some rest. I had a good time here. Check-in and check-out were simple, and the helper waiting for guests was pretty. It's a no-frills place, which suited what I needed. The room was clean and had heat, hot and cold water, A/C, a fridge, a closet, and a sink for washing dishes. Wi-Fi wasn't mentioned, so none implied. Guard your valuables and take them with you, leaving less important things behind. For what you pay, I think it's worth it.

The main problem for us was the shower. So little water came out that we couldn't wash properly, which matters to us as active travelers. The shower itself is very basic. The room was clean, and getting in was easy: there was a key in a locked box, opened with a code. The rooms are basic. Ours had a noisy fridge and fan, and the air conditioning was even louder than those. There is plenty of noise in the area, but we didn't mind it, and the birds were nice. ADO is nearby, among other things. Don't take the 3 stars as a failing grade. It's a clean, basic room in a location that can be loud, and we were fine with that, but a shower with enough water to clean yourself properly would be nice.

The staff were attentive: they waited for us when we arrived, cleaned the room every day, and answered questions right away. It was also decorated nicely. For anyone on a budget who wants a great location, I'd definitely recommend it. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment for a few days. It's cheap and very close to the beach and Fifth Avenue, but we were a bit disappointed when we first walked in. The pictures and reviews make it seem and look much better. The room smelled of smoke, and the kitchen area let us down since we planned to cook while traveling for a year. It was also very noisy, mostly from the air conditioning, though switching it on at least covered the street noise.

We were looking forward to a nice stay, but had to cancel our booking after they messaged to say they only take CASH in pesos or dollars, with no cards accepted. Make sure you have the money on hand if you plan to stay. I'm sure a few nights would be fine, but a week's stay at that price wasn't feasible for us. We're very disappointed.

The room was clean and had good security, with both a locked gate and a locked room door. Check-in was very easy, and the Wi-Fi worked well. There was plenty of hot water and the room had air conditioning too. Since it's in town, it does get noisy. Great accommodation and amazing value for the price, about 300 metres from the ADO bus station.
