Nayma Camacho from the Tropical entertainment team was a delight. She brought the guests to life and had a great sense of humor, which made our pool time so much fun. Our dinner for six was fantastic, too. Jorge Morales was attentive and noticed the details, making the evening feel special. The meal was outstanding. Thanks to all the staff, from some Canadian travelers who plan to see you next year :)

Tokyo is sooo delicious, and the fire show always has me captivated! Carlota gave great service at the tropical buffet, and Fanarda was nice too. The resort is large, family-friendly, and the slide area is especially fun. There’s also a club for anyone who likes partying, though the air conditioning was so strong I couldn’t stay inside for more than ten minutes 😅 I’m usually the one who gets cold, so maybe don’t take that comment too seriously. Everyone else was dancing and having fun. The pools felt a little cold, and in several spots this year there wasn’t enough sand on the beach, so we could see and feel the cement. Otherwise, we had an awesome vacation.

Palmeras, Sarahi Nahal, and Juan Pech made us feel very welcome. They were warm and attentive, and their positive, professional service made the meal even more enjoyable. The hotel buffet had a fresh, varied selection with tasty choices for everyone. The food was nicely presented and kept replenished.

The staff were wonderful across the sports center, buffet, restaurants, bars, entertainment, and housekeeping. Jorge Morales at Santa Fe especially saved the evening. They seemed short-staffed and he was handling far more tables than usual, but his cheerful energy made up for the confusing wait to get in. The resort is spacious and well cared for, with lots of poolside hammocks, which are a lovely free extra. It’s a bit far from the airport, and the beach is rocky and uneven, so bring water shoes or stick with the many pools. The pricing feels more like a “most inclusive” than a true all-inclusive. Billiards, bowling, and mini golf cost extra after dark. Kids pay to try the surf pool, and adults have to pay just to watch. No wonder the lounge around there was empty. Restaurant reservations are hard to get, and even with one, you may be stuck in a mass of frustrated, confused people for up to 30 minutes before getting in.

Rain or shine, Manuel Cervantes, Giovanni Mendoza, Kenia Flores, and Nayma Camacho brought smiles, energy, and nonstop activities that kept everyone laughing and involved. Their hard work and real enthusiasm for what they do made each day feel fun and memorable. The event and animation team were a huge part of our amazing stay at Barceló Maya Tropical. If you want a lively vacation, these are people you’ll be glad to spend the week with. They made our trip unforgettable, and we can’t wait to return. Thanks for all the memories! 🌞🎉
