My suite is lovely, and the place feels like a best-kept secret. The setting is stunning, an oasis in the jungle. The host and staff have gone out of their way to make me feel welcome. I'll recommend it to my friends and coworkers.

Gastón and the chef made our week feel like staying at a home away from home. Each morning, Gastón made me an espresso and put on great mood music, and the chef prepared a delicious complimentary breakfast. We tried everything on the menu. I still miss the acai smoothie bowls topped with kiwi and fresh fruit. My boyfriend and I found the place comfortable, clean, quiet, and full of character, with cute boho decor, macrame hanging plants, and a dream catcher by the bed. Gastón checked in to make sure we had what we needed, and by the end of the week he felt like a friend. You can tell he chose the indoor and outdoor decor with care. It's tucked away from the main road, which keeps it peaceful. I saw a negative review and wanted to share our experience. This place is a better fit for someone who appreciates a small, tasteful spot than for someone looking for a crowded chain hotel. The review also complained about breakfast being made the night before on a holiday, but that's explained before the stay. It's complimentary, and they leave it in your fridge for the morning, which felt like extra attentive service to us. On that day, just choose something that works cold, like oatmeal or an acai smoothie bowl, instead of eggs. I can't wait to return, here or at Gastón's other location in Tulum. I've already recommended it to friends. Lovely place, people, and experience :)

Hanna is amazing and looks after the place with her family. It's peaceful and lovely to eat there, and on weekends they sell food with delivery around the area, as of mid-December 2020. The setting is beautiful and away from the crowds. You'll want a car or another way to get around.

We had no water in our room for 24 hours, and although I understand that can happen, we were charged full price and offered no compensation. That's unacceptable for such an expensive hotel. Breakfast was poor as well. On holidays, they prepare it the day before and leave it in the fridge. What we got the next day was a messy plate. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this hotel. Don't stay here.

This was the best place we've stayed in Mexico. It's away from Akumal's touristy areas, but easy to reach on the collectivos that run between Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
