Casa Palma Hotel

There was no hot water at all during our two-night booking. The room smelled musty, like a cellar, and the pillows were so hard they felt filled with sand. The mattress was stained, dirty, and musty too, while the bed base was just a concrete slab. Staff made noise all night, and a rooftop disco bar blasted music until 6am. One of the worst hotels I've stayed in. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

The location is great, but this was the worst experience I've had at a three-star hotel in Mexico. I'd have rather slept in my car. It deserves one star. The towels had holes and stains, and the bedding was awful. The blanket seemed like it might be a curtain or mattress cover, with a box spring cover as the other option. I used my dirty beach towel instead. I suspect the linens, towels, and so-called blankets were all recycled after other hotels discarded them. Without air conditioning, birds by the window will keep you awake all night. Parking information on Google and Priceline suggests street parking, but free spots mean walking a few blocks. Otherwise, parking near the hotel costs money. In short, don't stay here unless you have no other options.

The owner and staff were extremely rude and provided terrible customer service. Their POS machine wasn't working, and neither was the Wi-Fi. Our bank showed the payment as pending for the hotel to accept or decline, so they couldn't withdraw the money yet. The hotel insisted they hadn't received it. We asked the owner to check with her bank before we paid again, so we wouldn't be charged twice. She said, "It's not my problem but yours, I am not going to contact my bank. I don't have the money and you must leave if you don't pay again". So we left. It was a very, very bad experience. All we needed was for them to verify the payment status with their bank, which shouldn't have been hard to sort out. If you stay there, pay cash and hope you don't run into a problem they won't help resolve.

The room got extremely hot, which was the one real downside. Otherwise, it was a nice place, very clean, with good service and a friendly receptionist.
