Departamento 101 Corto Maltes

The location was perfect, and we had plenty of room for the family. The huge balcony had an amazing oceanfront view. The place was very clean, and someone came in to clean once during the week, which was lovely and unexpected. Most of the finishes were great. A few practical issues came up. There's no pool, the elevator wasn't working, and hot water was limited, so showers need planning. The online photos show different furniture now: there aren't two couches, so my daughter had to share with Grandma. Some maintenance is needed, too. The outdoor furniture cushions were torn, the outdoor lights need rewiring and absolutely aren't safe for small children, and one sink in the front bathroom leaks onto the floor.

Corto Maltes had everything we needed and more, and the beach was just a stone's throw away. There's a live bar on the ground floor with music and shows. It was nice to go down for a good time and then come back upstairs to relax. The noise didn't bother us during our stay, and the room was well soundproofed. Our condo had two bedrooms, with one king bed, two twins, an extra comfortable mattress, a pullout bed, and a huge, very comfortable sofa. I loved everything about Corto Maltes, especially getting such a high-end place for less money. We shared it with a group of six.

The sea view from our room was top notch, and sitting there with a fresh-brewed coffee was so relaxing. We were there for two nights with friends, and slept really well. The rooms and bathrooms were large, with hot water and good pressure, and the AC worked great. Wow, what a great place. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury stay in Playa del Carmen. You won't be disappointed.

The location is good, though there’s a lot of noise.
