Enjoy Playa Hostel

I had such a fun time at the rooftop bar and met a lot of amazing people. The colored lights look perfect, and the murals around the building are gorgeous. The room is spacious and stays cool at night, though they turn off the a/c around 8 am. The showers were hot, but I wish towels were provided. The pool is beautiful. I’ll definitely come back!

We were happy with our stay. The location was great, just a short walk to the beach, with several restaurants and small convenience stores within a block. It’s far enough from the busy area that the noise wasn’t annoying, and there wasn’t much street noise. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly, and the price was very good for the accommodations. Staff also helped arrange a tour and answered questions about the area. Breakfast was coffee or tea, toast, cereal, and some fruit. Not the best hostel breakfast I’ve had, but not the worst. The room doors are very lightweight, so sound and light carry through the hostel. Also, our private “ensuite” bathroom had a separate entrance from the hallway. To use it, we had to unlock our room, go into the hall, unlock the bathroom, then reverse all those steps. Kind of a pain, and it defeats the purpose of an “ensuite.”

A nice place to meet people. I planned to stay here and ended up spending over 2 weeks. There’s a kitchen and fridge, and breakfast in the morning is amazing, with fresh fruit, fresh hand-pressed orange juice, toast, cereal, coffee, and more. There’s a fruit market on the corner, Walmart a few blocks away, plenty of restaurants nearby, and the beach just a block away. It costs a little more than some hostels around here, but the location and breakfast help balance that out. NICE HOT SHOWERS.

Some nights the music was too loud after 11 pm, but I’d come back. The female dorm had really big lockers, a comfortable bed, AC on overnight, and an ensuite bathroom. The hostel has a super nice terrace and good WiFi, and it’s about a 5 minute walk to the beach near the pier. Breakfast is included in the price and is enough to start the day. The staff were very friendly, especially Emerson on the night shift. The kitchen was small and dirty, mostly because people left their dishes there.
