After hours spent calling the agent and Booking.com, we ended up with no apartment and no refund, and had to find somewhere else at short notice. We never got our money back. We’d rented the place with our dog, and just 24 hours after booking, when cancellation would have cost the full amount, they messaged us on WhatsApp demanding €500 cash for the service dog. They said we hadn’t disclosed the dog when booking, which wasn’t true. We weren’t ready to pay that much in cash, and the agent wouldn’t accept a bank transfer. When we got to the apartment, the key safe was empty. Stay away, scammers!

We lost all our vacation money to this scammer. We were left outside and couldn’t get in, even though we’d told them beforehand we were bringing a service dog. The owner then demanded an extra €500 in cash when we arrived, far more than the cost of the three-night rental. She ignored our calls and blocked us. Booking.com didn’t help either, saying she was lying to their staff or not responding.

I booked apartment 210 through Booking.com, but there was no key, so I couldn’t use the pet-friendly place. They only told me after booking, when cancellation wasn’t possible, that they wanted an outrageous cash deposit for the service dog. I wasn’t willing to pay it. Warning, no apartment and the money’s gone!

A scam. They never turned up with the keys, or our money.

They left me without a place because I had no keys. My reservation wasn’t cancelled, and I couldn’t get into the apartment.
