Hacienda del Carmen

It's a 30+ year old building, but it's well maintained. There are two maintenance guys every day and night time security. The pool is nice, though quite shallow. It's in the garden and doesn't get much sun during the winter days, so it isn't used much then.

We were robbed on our third night. While we were asleep, someone got into the apartment through the balcony. Building security told us this had happened before. We called the police as soon as we realized our phones had been stolen, but they couldn't do anything. We booked another hotel and left. Then the Italian guy in charge of the property tried to charge us for the remaining nights, even though we obviously weren't going to stay. Adventure experience hotel highly recommend. Better than this place.

The location in PDC is good, and there's still a nice internal courtyard and pool, though the hotel has seen better days and is getting older. If you like to sleep in, you'll hear the bells from Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Carmen one block away, along with traffic on busy 15th ave. The stairs aren't very convenient for luggage if your room is upstairs. There's no TV in the rooms, and the Wi-Fi isn't always strong. Reception only starts after 10 o'clock, so keep that in mind if you need to leave early.

I called to reserve for 4 people, and a guy named luis offered me 3 rooms. When I asked if the same price applied for 6 people, he hung up. I called back, but he never answered. He was trying to fool us. Jerk.
