Hostel 6-15

The beds worried me every time I climbed into one. They were old, unstable, and noisy, with worn mattresses and bad pillows. It’s a 14-bed dorm, not 12, and there’s no lock on the room, so anyone can walk in. The entrance stays open all the time, sometimes with nobody at reception, and the lockers are too small to keep belongings safe. The place needs repairs and better security. It’s loud too, especially the entrance and largest dorm facing the main street. There are only two old, dirty bathrooms for everyone, and the water pressure is too low to wash my hair. The common area and kitchen are both small, and the common area gets street noise. There’s no hot water for washing dishes. Breakfast is just coffee, two slices of bread, and a little fruit. Avoid this hostel.

The people running it came across as stuck up and not helpful, and I didn’t enjoy my stay. It felt dirty and worn out. I’ve stayed in around 15 hostels, and this one wasn’t good.

An employee, who I assume is a former employee now, threatened to kill us when we wouldn’t buy his stolen camera. He also tried to steal from us while we were asleep, but we caught him in the act. Stay away. TripAdvisor removed my review, so here’s the short version.

It was about £13 for the night, and I know the usual “you get what you pay for” argument, but there weren’t even locks on the doors. I’m pretty sure my brother had a nicer bed in prison.
