Hotel Angelo's

The breakfast was advertised as an unlimited buffet, but the selection was very limited and there were no vegetarian or vegan friendly options. The pools were basically puddles I didn’t want to step into, and the rooms had no hot water at all. We had to tell reception every time we wanted hot water for a shower. It was extremely frustrating. This hotel is a scam and nothing like the advertisement. Please don’t fall for it.

The restaurant serves breakfast and then closes, and there are no beverages available. The area felt dangerous to walk around in search of something to eat or drink. The hotel also isn’t as advertised, with no room service, shuttles, concierge, or multilingual staff. The pools were dirty and scummy, and there weren’t any towels in the pool area if you dared to go in the water. In the bathroom there were just 2 hand towels and a small shampoo. I had to ask for towels and glasses. I eventually got 2 towels, but they said the glasses were locked in the restaurant.

It’s fine for sleeping, showering, and eating, so you get what you pay for. The pool was dirty the whole time we were there, the staff were okay, and there’s no view. On the plus side, it’s a $2 taxi ride to 5th Ave, with a pharmacy and some restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was affordable and yummy, and the staff helped us with a taxi and some packages throughout our stay. Not a bad hotel, but definitely 3 stars.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and my room was cleaned every day to a high standard. I got better service here than at 4-5 star hotels I’ve stayed at. I was there for one week in January 2022, and found it great value for the price. At a good pace, 5th avenue is about a 15 minute walk away, which makes for good exercise. A taxi is another option and costs approximately 100 pesos, which isn’t expensive.
