The room was spacious, clean, and furnished in a rustic style. Some pieces were dated but very well looked after. The bed was large, with the best mattress I've ever slept on. We had a fridge, TV, round table, two chairs and a stool. The bathroom was spacious, the shower had strong pressure, and it was easy to adjust the temperature. The air conditioning was quite noisy in the "Ariel" room but almost silent in the "Galatea" room. The safe locked with a key, which I preferred to a combination lock because there's one key and no default code that could open it without knowing the combination set by the guest. We spent ten days at Hotel Lunata and think we chose very well. It's right on 5th Avenue, Playa del Carmen's main shopping and bar street. The public beach is less than a five-minute walk, and the bus station is under ten minutes away. Being so central comes with one drawback: nearby bars make it regularly noisy until early morning. We had a street-facing room, and even with double glazing, earplugs are advisable. The garden-facing rooms are supposedly considerably quieter. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Nikita and Michelle deserve a special mention for arranging tours and sharing useful Playa del Carmen tips, especially restaurant suggestions. They also organized our airport rides to and from Cancun for 3000 pesos. Our departure wasn't until afternoon, so they let us store our luggage for a few hours after checkout. We were very satisfied, and would definitely choose Hotel Lunata again if we're back in Playa del Carmen.

The central location in Playa del Carmen is great, and the room was spacious with everything I needed. I liked the garden and the cute Christmas decorations. Every staff member I met was lovely and helpful, which really stood out. Street noise is the downside of being so central, though that's not the hotel's fault. The Wi-Fi could be stronger. After three weeks in Mexico, I especially appreciated the strong water pressure, which I hadn't found in many other hotels. Good value for money, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The courtyard was cozy, and the room looked lovely, with stylish decor and everything kept clean and in good shape. Even though the hotel sits on a noisy, busy street that cars can't enter, the room was well soundproofed. For a short visit to Playa del Carmen, the location worked really well. Breakfast was a little odd, though: when we arrived, only coffee and tea were available 🙂

The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and the staff were warm and attentive. It's a distinctive, beautiful hotel right in the middle of the action on 5th Avenue.

There's a peaceful garden out back, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. This is a lovely little boutique hotel, though being right on the main boulevard means the noise can carry late into the night and early morning.
