Isabella Boutique Hotel

I’ve traveled solo to 90 countries over the better part of 15 years, and I can’t say enough about how safe and appreciated I felt at this hotel in San Pedro Sula. The staff were incredible. I checked in four hours early, and although I waited ten minutes for my room, they gave me a cocktail on the house. Before my flight, I needed cash for a cab, and they drove me three blocks to an ATM so I wouldn’t have to walk outside. If you’re a woman traveling solo through San Pedro Sula, I highly recommend this staff.

We stayed at Isabella in July 2019 and had such a nice time that we plan to return. The cabanas are cute, with good AC, private patios, chairs, and outdoor showers. There’s a small pool, restaurant, and bar, and live music a few nights each week. Everyone on staff was incredibly nice. The hotel is steps from the beach, though it isn’t actually on the beach; they have an arrangement with a beach club a couple of houses down the same street. The ferry to cozumel is an easy walk of about a mile, mostly through pedestrian shopping areas. Algae was causing problems on the nearby beach when we visited, so we spent most of our beach time going over to cozumel instead. It was also a good deal.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I had a lovely stay at Isabella Boutique Hotel. My room was cozy and had AC, and the towel swans on the bed were such a sweet touch. The pool is small but lovely, breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect.

A cute hotel in a great spot beside the beach, near 5th Avenue’s shops and restaurants. The rooms are basic but comfortable, the price is good, and the staff are very nice. Huge Iguanas hang around the pool, and once they know you, they’ll eat right out of your hand.
